EMERGE is an exhibition by the first batch of beneficiaries. Designed to be a showcase of their talent; it is curated as a series of mini solo exhibitions to show the beneficiaries skills, and their artistic areas of interests. By introducing these emerging young artists, Fundacion Sanso also makes the program public.
Since 1995, Juvenal Sanso has explicitly expressed the desire to create a foundation to help out art students. In private, he discreetly set aside a bursary to help out young students studying Fine Arts in the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus in the 1990s. With the establishment of Fundacion Sanso in 2014 through the help of his friends, his personal desire to help out budding young artists has been institutionalized to be more systematically implemented.
Since state college tuition has been covered by the government, the Fundacion Sanso Fine Arts Student Stipend Program was created to augment the financial capacities of select students studying Fine Arts. Bulacan State University was identified as the pilot area as it has consistently produced technically adept and motivated students, and artists graduating here have to surmount the challenges of being in the periphery.
