Look! Yes, look. Look at the sun. Look at the sunflowers. Look at the sunflowers as they follow the sun, their source of energy and power to bloom. Sunflowers follow the sun, morning until night, until they bloom facing the east.

Ancient cultures revered sunflowers. We can guess why, given the way we still feel about sunflowers today. Go look at a sunflower and imbibe the smile it carries, the hope it brings.

At Sunshine Farm Philippines (SFPH) in Tiaong, Quezon, we experience those smiles and that hope each day. SFPH is the flagship project of Center for Growing and Giving Foundation, Inc. It is a sunflower farm built to provide sustainable employment for different abilities, beginning with jobs for persons with disabilities (PWDs). The spirit of its mission lives in the hearts of its workers: “planting seeds of hope and happiness.” For PWDs, hope is a job. SFPH’s long-range plan includes building inclusive communities that address life skills training, functional academic, job preparation, and building PWD-appropriate model homes.

2020 marked a difficult year for all, and the PWD community in particular. SFPH was closed from March until November and 25 PWD families lost regular income, the SPED community lost regular support, and other inclusion projects were put on hold.
But as sure as the sun rises in the east every morning, hope remains. And just like the way we look at different abilities on the farm, matching them with what needs to be done, we now look at different ways to provide sustainable support for inclusion.
We start 2021 with a new way of capturing the sunflower’s enduring power to spread hope and happiness. QuattroUnoArt is helping SFPH organize this sunflower-themed virtual exhibit fund-raiser this coming February to support the wider inclusion of persons with different abilities in society.

We hope you will help support Sunshine Farm help more, by purchasing a piece of art or a farm-based experience.

Objective:

To raise funds for SUNSHINE FARM PHILIPPINES (SFPH) and its PWD inclusion initiatives. (100% of sales proceeds will go to SFPH.)
