Nadera Launches Books Among Others During His Salamax@60

Victor Emmanuel Carmelo Nadera Jr. also known as Vim will launch Gadaling-Noo and Kumusta, 2020?, published by the University of the Philippines Press. The books, of poetry and essay respectively, are included in the Philippine Writers Series of Likhaan: U.P. Institute of Creative Writing where he served as its Director from 2003 to 2008. This is his project during the pandemic including the forthcoming Tokhang At Iba Pang Nanlabang Sanaysay.

 

 

Called SALAMAX@60, the program is divided into three parts: (A) Pagbubunsod where the books will be launched together with anthologies of his students in MP 10, MP 171, and PI 100. Also, Foundation AWIT will introduce Pondong Lusog-Puso’t Isip.

Then (B) Pagpapalabas or photo and video presentations will follow. Pictures are taken by his son, Wika, and videos are made by 3D or Dinah Psalma and Dinah Sulat, his daughters, and wife Dinah Palmera.

Lastly (C) Pagdiriwang or literary performances will be directed by Jasper Villasis. Invited guests are National Artists Virgilio Almario, Gemino Abad, Ricky Lee, and Ramon Santos with Efren Abueg, Teo Antonio, Joey Ayala, Joey Baquiran, Bataan High School for the Arts (BHSA), Ron Biñas, Rommel Bonus, Dax Cutab, Ony Carcamo, Khavn de la Cruz, Gerome de la Peña, Boyet de Mesa, Lourd de Veyra, Mike Coroza, Easy Fagela, Ralph Fonte, Roland Fronda, Ramil Gulle, Nerisa Guevara, Schedar Jocson, Laya PH, Marne Kilates, Hannah Leceña, Jim Libiran, Juliet Mallari, Siege Malvar, April Misa, Jimmuel Naval, Yvette Parcon, Paul Val Peña, Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA), Nazer Salcedo, Bryan Santos, Solidarity In Performance Art (SIPA), Joti Tabula, Talula Craft, The Makatas, The Batutes, Roland Tolentino, Kate Torralba, Krip Yuson, Galileo Zafra, Greg Zuniega, and more.

This occasion is not merely a celebration of his 60th birthday but thanksgiving as well since the author was rushed to the hospital on the eve of last Christmas and was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction. Fr. Nicanor Lalog ll will do the anointing.

Hosted by RR Cagalingan and Beverly Siy, this fund-raising will be from 1PM to sawa, so to speak, at the Ignacio B. Gimenez-Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura (IBG-KAL) on Friday, January 19.
