Erwin Pineda’s solo exhibit, ‘Reptalialism Chronicles’, casts a spell upon all who enter. Stepping into this world feels akin to delving into the pages of a forgotten Victorian-fantasy novel, where reality blurs with the fantastical in a fusion of artistry.
Each canvas hanging upon the walls serves as a portal to a realm where the boundaries between human and reptilian blur into insignificance. Pineda’s brush strokes weave intricate tales of whimsy, as characters with scales and skin meld seamlessly with those bearing the familiar contours of humanity.
In this alternate universe, creatures adorned in top hats and corsets mingle with beings whose features are more lizard than man. Yet, despite their disparate appearances, they share a common thread – an embodiment of the opulent splendor of Victorian fashion and the mechanical marvels of steampunk aesthetics.
