Pianist – Harper – Music Teacher – Learner
Ryan Villamor is a graduate of Bachelor of Music in Music Education, major in piano and minor in percussion at University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.
He has taught individual piano lessons at PJC Virtuoso Music School in Brunei. He worked as a Head Music Teacher in 2007-2009 and Senior Music Teacher in 2009-2013.
Ryan is a devout jazz pianist who practices disciplined spontaneity on his music improvisation that finds the essence of sound and life in general.
In 2001, he had his first milestone and begun playing with Majam Trio founded by the late Professor Joey Valenciano of UP College of Music. Joey made him think beyond music. The art of listening towards spontaneous creativity and spirituality.
He also joined the Vince Lahorra Jazz Quartet in the following year.
In 2013, he studied Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy in Rudolf Steiner Education In The Philippines (RSTEP) workshop and taught music in Acacia Waldorf School, Sta. Rosa Laguna for two school years.
Throughout his music endeavor, he found the Lever Harp (aka Celtic Harp) in music therapy workshop held by a German music therapist Stephan Kuehne from Havelhoehe Hospital Berlin that inspired him to research on sound healing and harp therapy.
In 2014, he begun studying Therapeutic Harp Music at “International Harp Therapy Program – Online Correspondence Course” which is based in San Diego, California.
He volunteered as a harp therapist working with children with special needs in Maria Domenica Development Center, Antipolo City.
Currently, he is working as a resident pianist at Champagne Room, Manila Hotel and a Harp Therapy Practitioner intern at Adventist Medical Center Manila.He plays music for weddings, birthdays, corporate and special events.. He also accepts home tutorials for piano and harp.
