The Cebu performance of “Seussical” takes the stage on February 24 to 25, 2024 at the CENEWOF Theater of the Marcelo Fernan Cebu Press Center in Sudlon, Cebu City, Philippines. Crafted with musical brilliance by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, who co-authored the book, this production is a magnificent celebration of the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss.
Directed by Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson and featuring the vibrant talents of 2TinCans Theatre Company and the musical theatre students of 2TinCans Theatre Lab, Seussical marks the tenth anniversary production of 2TinCans Philippines, Inc.
Journey into Friendship, Loyalty, and Imagination
“Seussical” intricately weaves together the stories of well-loved author, Dr. Seuss, focusing on Horton the Elephant’s journey to safeguard Whoville, a tiny civilization on a speck of dust. Horton, amidst ridicule, persists in protecting the Whos. Meanwhile, Jojo, a young Who, faces challenges for his unconventional thoughts. Narrated by the Cat in the Hat, the plot merges various adventures, highlighting themes of friendship, loyalty, and boundless imagination in a vibrant world of endless possibilities.
