All mad things must come to an end
We’re saying goodbye to our biggest festival yet with our closing concert: Spectres

After 13 days of residencies, workshops, hacklabs, concerts, exhibits, and symposia, we are officially bidding farewell to WSK X: Festival of the Recently Possible, our tenth year anniversary festival. Of course, we wouldn’t let this end without a proper goodbye, and we want you to be a part of it tonight.

Acting as the festival’s closing concert, SPECTRES will feature five electro-acoustic acts, all of whom can be considered as artists working in the ambient idiom, or music which foregrounds transient textures over the rigid grids of rhythm and structure.

In an open-air theater located within the gates of a rebuilt Spanish colonial-era citadel, our venue will be the Rajah Sulayman Theater in Intramuros, Manila — harmonically-rich and immersive walls of sound conjure remote atmospheres — of uncharted territories, otherworldly domains, and dystopian metropolises. Haunted by the weight of history, of centuries-long subjugation, and scarred with traces of the global catastrophe which almost obliterated it, the theater provides new dimensions to the readymade spaces often said to be evoked by ambient music.
