lmahica Art Gallery is pleased to present the upcoming solo exhibition, “The Secret Hour: Glimpses of Everthere,” featuring the evocative works of acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Maria Pureza Escaño. The exhibition is set to captivate art enthusiasts and critics alike, providing a rare insight into Escafio’s ethereal dreamworld.

In her sixth solo show, Maria Pureza Escaño invites viewers to explore the mystical realm of Everthere, a paradisiacal forest that has long existed in the artist’s subconscious. Through a unique blend of painting, brushwork, and clay, the artist brings to life the serene landscapes, tumbling waters, and vibrant flora and fauna that characterize this mythical sanctuary.

Escaño’s artistic journey into Everthere began in 2014, driven by a prevalent longing for a peaceful existence free from sorrow and strife. Her canvases serve as open doors and windows, inviting viewers to frisk and frolic amid the sublime sights and sounds of susurrant leaves, warbling birds, and garrulous waters.

Art critic Danny Castillones Sillada, in his article “The Arcadian Forest in Maria Pureza Escaño’s Paintings,” describes Escafio’s canvases as a place where one can feel the inexplicable sensation of completeness as if the artist has put back together a lost Eden, where secret dreams and longings blossom.

“The Secret Hour” is not merely a symbolic rendering of a narrative; it is a transcendent experience, actualizing every human soul’s deep yearning to connect with their idea of beauty and perfection, to gain a lost Eden, and to transcend time and space.
