WSK 2015 takes the concept of relay and applies it to human interactions: human to human and human to machine. Coming from the 10-day Kampung Lab workshop, PROJECT RELAY functions as the festival highlight and serves as an interactive exhibition to showcase the live performance of the first human-robot orchestra in the Philippines. Featuring Tad Ermitaño [PH], Tetsu Kondo [JP], Fumitake “Bun” Tamura [JP], Bryan Day [US], Caliph8 [PH], and Malek Lopez [PH].
PROJECT RELAY will premiere during the opening on November 13 and is co-presented by collaborative platform WeAreSynesthesia.com. It will held at Green Sun’s The Eye, a 1,000 sq.m. venue fitted with superior acoustics and high-end Sony projection systems capable of blanketing the whole 360 degrees of the venue with visuals.
Prior to the performances, guests will have the opportunity to see the instruments up close and interact with them, as well as engage the creators in intimate one-on-one exchanges.
The second part will feature the actual concert showcasing this human-robot orchestra’s groundbreaking live performance, which is guaranteed to be a one-of-a-kind immersive experience.
The afterparty: live DJ sets by WSK 2015 artist collaboration, with visuals powered by some of Manila’s best VJs. Tickets are at 600 PHP, inclusive of free-flowing drinks until supplies last.

The pit, the abyss, the penetralia, the recesses of the mind, the darkness of political domination, the gulf between worlds. To conduct the pit, then, versus the orchestra of the living, is to initiate and order materials from the subconscious.
International and local artists will take the role as the Conductors of the Pit and partake in a freely improvised environment where their only obvious limitations are the limits of their equipment, venue, space, and time.
***
A highlight performance by luminary Dutch sound poet Jaap Blonk and American synthesizer music pioneer Bob Ostertag, instrument builder and sound artist Bryan Day, and a trio performance by WSK alumni: Un Escargot Vide? from France, Terence Lau from Singapore, and Tengal from Manila.
With local supporting acts UGONG and HIBERNATION. Closing performance by BUN [JP] and Caliph8, and visuals by Tetsu Kondo [JP].

The closing event will feature the launch of HERESY, a new art platform for women working with sound and multimedia. HERESY pushes for a more gender-inclusive new media arts community by providing a venue for featuring women artists and cultural practitioners as the main performers, producers, and collaborators of artistic and performative work.
It will be held at Pineapple Lab, Makati, and will showcase a multimedia performance that explores the interaction of sound, movement, space, and light, produced via an all-female collaboration by sound artist Teresa Barrozo, video artist Joee Mejias, choreographer Kirstie Belano, production designer Rafaella Las, and writer Franchesca Casauay.
The evening will also feature a special performance by WSK resident artist Bob Ostertag [US] and DJ sets by some of Manila’s most innovative female DJs from the leftfield scene, NONPLUS (Subflex) and SAMANTHA (TodayxFuture), and performances by 143Cyberspecie and #100YearsOfSadness. Tickets are priced at 350 PHP inclusive of free-flowing drinks by Don Papa Rum for a limited time. The event is powered by The Music Source and DJ Central.
