‎The philosopher, John Locke, defines an idea as “whatever is meant by Phantasm, Notion, Species, or whatever it is, which the Mind can be employ’d about in thinking.” Ideas, therefore, are always present, swirling in the recesses of our minds, some of them waiting to be awakened.

How does one capture an idea? Do we need to undergo a rigorous process of dissecting complexities? Some may go through a process of incubation, other times an idea spontaneously surfaces fully-formed out of recollections, experiences or unknown forces. We either go through a conscious processing of vast information, or by simply going through our usual motions, an idea bursts!

In “Incubation,” Lhean Storm and Bibi Belgica’s previous exhibit, each artist focused on their individual processes. For their next show, “Burst,” the artists attempt to find common ground through vibrant colors in their explorations of ideas as they pop. This is the outcome of the journey that was Incubation. The collaboration further incorporates touches of monochrome for added dimension as they open doors to 1111’s acrylic works.

These three women artists collectively present their A-Ha! Moments, showcasing how each of them transforms sparks of ideas into bonfires which culminate into works of art.
