IN a time replete with campaigns to denigrate religious or spiritual beliefs or leanings in favor of a burgeoning materialist pragmatism, diskurso.com counter-offers Religioso/Espritual, a show of resistance demonstrating religious/spiritual tendencies in a number of artists’ artworks, featuring these artists’ significant voicings within our free society’s continuing discourse on spiritual issues.
But the show is also politically resistant to violence in religion, here demonstrating in conflicting beliefs the possibility of pluralism and democracy within one room or space.
Finally, the show demonstrates artistic empowerment, religious/spiritual art being an option for the artist to place him/herself on the preacher’s seat.
