On December 10, as the peoples of the world commemorate the significance of the passage of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, artists/performing groups in Baguio City shall once again converge for the yearly jam for human rights. Dubbed “Rage for Light”, we hope to highlight the fast-shrinking democratic space and the blatant disregard for human rights in recent months. As artists, we value our freedom of expression as much as we value the universal right to live freely and in peace.
This year, we also offer our performances to raise funds for our fellow musician, Chickoy Pura of the legendary Pinoy rock band, The Jerks, who is battling cancer known as T-Cell Lymphoma. His resilience and determination to win this battle while continuing to perform for the oppressed people, is a great inspiration for all artists especially during these trying times.
