The book “Modernismo sa Sining Musika” is a timely publication that fills a void in the availability of materials for music education, produced by National Artist for Music Dr. Ramon Pagayon Santos.
The UP College of Music, the UP Press, and the UP Center for Ethnomusicology are working together to formally launch this valuable resource and help put it to the public eye.
The event will feature a discussion about reflections on the book by Dr. Zosimo Lee of the Department of Philosophy, UP Diliman; as well as a response from Dr. Ramon Pagayon Santos, National Artist for Music.
The event will also feature performances of musical works from contemporary composers such as Nicanor Abelardo, Jonas Baes, LaVerne dela Pena, Josefino Chino Toledo, and Ramon Pagayon Santos, performed by the Ripieno Ensemble and Rag-O Duo.
Event is open to graduate students and faculty.
