Nora Aunor’s technique is to recede from recession itself. Her mastery of this curvature should instruct subsequent performers what is to be done in a point of no return. She is most breathtaking wandering about in this allusiveness. Alden Richards responds with a dramatic impulse to hold back and hold everything in when he finally knows: to grieve is to gain understanding. Those few seconds of Rosanna Roces dazzle us with a faith in Adolf Alix, who has once again taken us back to the morrow of a cinema rapt with its own midnight appointments.”
