Arte Bettina proudly presents Unravelling Bettina: Efflorescence.
In “Unravelling Bettina: Efflorescence,” on view at Arte Bettina from 17 August–1 September, the commanding force is the floral image, richly laden with symbols and meanings. Since ancient Egypt, the use of floral imagery pervaded the art of the pharaohs. The 15th century Italian artist Arcimboldo created human visages consisting of flowers in different seasons, adverting to the birth and demise of man.
In contemporary times, floral imagery conflated with the human face symbolized the deep relationship of flowers with mankind as harbingers of human emotions. The works on view have been rendered in the spirit of efflorescence – with vivacity and ebullience of fine craftsmanship elucidating the myriad moods of life, jovial and animated.
Participating artists are Billy Boy Abonado, Jr., Salvador Bañares, Reynard Borillo, Argee Dacuyan, Reynold dela Cruz, Aubrey Fajardo, Louie Ignacio, Emmanuel Miranda, Katrina Pallon, Jojo Ramirez, Rishab, Michael Villagante, Kyle Vizcara, Nguyen Dinh Vu, and Rodney Yap.
The opening reception is on Saturday, 17 August 2019 at 6 pm.
