Beginners always have this rough outlook on art as a prospective career. It has always been the case that to pursue it one must have the passion and perseverance. One path open to beginners is to vie for an art degree.
Uncertainty reigns king in this time. It doesn’t seem that anyone believes that they would end up as artists. Local culture ascribes hardship and poverty to it and there are no assured avenues by which to pursue it. It feels as though to try is to rebel and that holds a lot of appeal to young people. In the end it is a vindication of personal truths and the belief that those truths can stand up in the real world.
Academic Transition is a collection of works that seek to confirm experiences undergone through the study of fine arts and how these circumstances have developed our view of the industry and our place in it from a student/amateur perspective.
