In time for Valentines, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang takes a look at the romantization of the culture of violence and impunity perpetuated by law enforcers under the current administration. The exhibit and zine launch delves into this disturbing phenomenon and questions the social conditions and conditioning that cultivates this toxic display of machismo.
The passing of the Anti Terrorism Act of 2020, blurs the definition between criticism and terrorism and has created provisions for longer detentions to arrest people without warrant and judicial provisions. Given this very real and immediate threat to our right to free speech and proper judicial process, it now seems criminal for creatives not to act upon this, given that we are suppose to embody and defend freedom of expression.
