The Cultural Center of the Philippines pays tribute to Italian conductor Maestro Ruggero Barbieri who passed away on March 20, 2022.
Barbieri was the Musical Director and Principal Conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra from 1996 to 2004 and was the first foreign conductor who held the post for two consecutive terms, bringing our resident orchestra to greater heights and leading it into much-acclaimed Asian and European tours.
The CCP extends to Maestro Barbieri’s family its sincerest condolences.
A memorial mass and tribute will be streamed live on the CCP, CCP Office of the President, and PPO Facebook Pages on April 1, 2022, at 6:00 PM.
