FOR RENT
: property (such as a house) rented or four rent
THE MIND IS A HOUSE.
It is your property.
It is your own.
There seems to be bliss in having a mind that can afford to let an external force willingly occupy and command it with a clockwork foundation — effortlessly functioning as biologically as possible. To have it stripped of the disastrous burdens that crumble the structures of the house.
The roughhousing, the leaky faucets, the turn-down walls, and the cracks in the ceilings all show signs of being run-down.
THE MIND IS A HOUSE, BUT IS NOT ALWAYS A HOME.
It is not always polished for guests to quickly stay in and politely get out of. But instead of making sense of thoughts that informally settle in the mind, the ones that intrusively live rent-free, maybe it’s time to collect the debt.
In the process of collecting what’s overdue, these tenants may now bid goodbye and move on to a completely different form of space — from an intangible interior to a more concrete and definite exterior, such as a canvas (perhaps a poster will do).
Surely it’s a fair business model.
THE DEBT HAS BEEN PAID.
The mind is now for lease to new occupants, the unwelcome thoughts have been rehoused, and the posters are now renovated and permanently occupied once more.
