“Scrambled Stillness” explores the individual’s awareness of tranquility and disarray, and how both concepts affect the human psyche. Visual artist, Dennis Atienza, implores the viewer to acknowledge the need to reset personal views and principles when striving against derangement, to personally reflect on what is seen, heard, and spoken.
Despite numerous factors that affect a person’s ability to think clearly, Atienza believes that it is important for one to cleanse and nurture the eyes that serve as windows to one’s soul, engage with community, and reminisce pleasant moments encountered in life, all of which allows spiritual healing. It is of human nature to scramble over challenges, but absolute stillness makes way in achieving calmness in life. When the two come together, the magnificence of the heart, soul, and mind, find balance and harmony.
