Synopsis

6D Culture Driven Nation

As a nation, being Filipino is our starting point; and nowhere can that identity be found and formed, but in our culture. Culture, recognized as the Sixth Dimension of National Security and Development, holds the transformative power to chart our nation’s destiny. Strengthening our cultural foundations empowers the other dimensions of national development, creating a ripple effect that fosters true progress.

Achieving this vision, however, requires a bold paradigm shift. Artists, curators, and creatives must unite with policymakers, educators, and the general public to build a unified framework: an overarching National Cultural Strategy. Strategic and operational action plans, programs and projects, must be implemented to give flesh to this mission that must permeate all levels of society. The idea is government must lead and empower the organization, but the major stakeholders of cultural engineers and builders must capture and instigate the mass populace to put culture in its rightful priority, appreciation, and utilization that strongly shows its imbedding at heart and mind.

This advocacy is the very spirit that breathed life in the main author’s lifelong Dream, where culture is put in its rightful place – at the root and core of nation building, accruing true national development that is truly Filipino. Beginning with the transformative power of Visual Arts — we shall whet the cultural chisel that will continuously carve the Filipino Dream, sculpting it to reality, one dimension at a time.

It is time to embrace a Heritage of Greatness.
To nurture our old roots while boldly exploring new routes.
To realize that culture is indispensable, and the only way.
