The Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) is an internationally-awarded youth orchestra from the Philippines, having won the 1st Prize in the 12th Summa Cum Laude International Music Festival held at the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria and went on to perform in concerts in Venice, Florence and Rome. In 2017 they won 2nd place in the same competition and went to have concerts in famous concert venues in Vienna, Salzburg, Prague and Munich. Since their return from Europe they have been featured in several high profile performances such as the Cultural Centre of the Philippines’ (CCP) “Banda Rito Banda Roon” Youth Orchestra Festival; the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) “Timpalak Kundiman;” the National Music Competition for Young Artists’ (NAMCYA) “Minsan Lang Kaming Maging Musiko;” the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation’s (RMAF) Appreciation Gala Night; and at the Philippine Senate where the MSJO received a formal commendation for their achievements through the Senate Resolution no. 808. The (MSJO) is under the principal patronage of Standard Insurance Inc. as part of its corporate campaign “in pursuit of excellence,” with a program that seeks to discover, nurture and promote the musical talent of Filipinos and give them an opportunity to shine in the international stage.
