Bokeng Ancanan (b. 1971), a multi-diciplinary and installation artist, whose works depict the richness of Filipino culture and traditions. A graduate of Fine Arts, from Far Eastern University, Bokeng , is also a farmer in his own right. His apparent desire to foreground Filipino culture and uphold environmental concerns in his art is echoed and reaffirmed in his engagement with socio-civic works, art workshops/projects/conferences within his immediate locality and beyond.

He served as an officer in Amadeo Tourism’s office, general manager at Balite falls resort and a barangay official for 9 years. Though he is a member of numerous artists groups and has joined innumerable group exhibits, his first one-man show “Networks and Internets” was a definitive display of his artistry.

The commune leader and Alitaptap Artists Community president, a community of collective artists in Amadeo Cavite. It is a haven of talented artists who come together to share their skills, create inspiring works of art and advocate for environmental stewardship.

“We’d say Ancanan is among our many undermined artists, relatively unknown but certainly superior to a few over hyped ones with facile techniques and simplistic ideas.”
