March 6 – April 18
Post Gallery
Cubao X, Quezon City

Auggie Fontanilla’s 2nd solo exhibit Pag-asa Project is a culmination of his diaristic drawing ritual. He keeps a journal of his drawings that are akin to old school tattoo flashes, and draws on them everyday as a means for him to transcend the drudgery of routine of work, of errands and domestic chores. This also flames the light of hope for him, hence pag-asa, that he may soon live out his frustration of becoming a tattoo artist. His drawings, delineated in clear, neat outlines draw inspiration as well from gang emblems and prison insignias. These are to be translated as large pen and ink drawings, neon signages and embroidered patches on leather bomber jackets.

Auggie Fontanilla graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) with a degree in BS Fine Arts major in Advertising. His professional career brought him to the publishing industry, where he worked as an Art Director for Preview Magazine. He co-founded the artist collective Pilipinas Street Plan, and is an active member of the graffiti crew KST. He currently runs a creative studio and produces a clothing line called THE located in Cubao X. His artwork has been featured in group shows held in the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Art Informal, Blanc Gallery, Secret Fresh, Suez & Zapote, and Vinyl on Vinyl. Note to Self in Pablo X is his first solo exhibition last 2012.

Auggie Fontanilla’s Pag-Asa Project exhibit opening will also coincide with the launch of Assembly Generals latest album at THE shop also located at Cubao X.
