Bandera

Itaguyod ang kalayaan mo!

June 12, 2021 | Philippine Independence Day

Open call for citizen participation

These grim days, with our civic spaces under attack and our sovereignty put on sale, how do we assert our kalayaan?

On June 12, 2021, Independence Day, take a stand and raise our freedom. Join BANDERA! an Ibang Entablado alternative exhibit that affirms our role in the ongoing fight for what belongs to us: our rights and our democracy.

How to join?

– Create a digital or physical artwork banner declaring your freedom using any readily available materials, e.g. printer, projector, paper, cloth, scrap cloth, old clothing, ink, markers, pencils, paint, etc. Any size.

– Display your work outside your homes or on digital spaces for the public to see on Independence Day, June 12, 2021. Upload your work on your social media accounts (Make it public so we can see!) and/or to the Rappler Room (fb.com/groups/TheRapplerRoom) and use the hashtags #BanderaNatinTo, #ArawNgKalayaan.

– Tag and invite your friends to make their own artwork banners! Ask them: “Paano mo iba-bandera ang kalayaan mo?”

– Take over social media with a wave of artwork banners from all over the Philippines and beyond. Artworks will be uploaded on DAKILA’s and Rappler ’s social media pages. Comment and share!
