The City of Baguio and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts present: Cinema Rehiyon 15 @ MFF2023, co-presented by the Baguio Tourism Council, Department of Tourism – CAR, Cultural Center of the Philippines, TWIMedia, Tourism Promotions Board, Grand Sierra Pines Hotel and SM City Baguio.
The Montañosa Film Festival, now on its 3rd year, continues to foster Baguio’s stature as home to independent filmmakers, thus profiling the city as a center for film expressions, in vogue with global and national trends. This further strengthens Baguio City’s rebranding as a safe and Creative City while exploring film as a tool to revive the tourism industry in the wake of the pandemic.
This year’s edition is very special as Cinema Rehiyon, the flagship project of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) Committee on Cinema joins Montañosa Film Festival 2023. Since its inception, Cinema Rehiyon has aimed to showcase the Philippines’ regional filmmaking.
Cinema Rehiyon 15 @ Montañosa Film Festival is an eight-day special event from March 25 to April 1, 2023 wherein carefully selected independent short films will compete and vie for awards and prestige. The festival showcases exceptional narrative fiction and documentary films by filmmakers hailing from the various regions of the Philippines. We are also pleased to announce this year’s MFF beneficiary which is BARP Foundation for the rehabililation of their social hall.
