Dulaang UP proudly announces the two stellar productions lined up in this year’s 45th theatre season.
The Reconciliation Dinner, a new one-act play by Floy Quintos, directed by Dexter Martinez Santos, showing this November 18-20, 2022. Venue: University Theater Main Hall stage. (The venue is near the UP College of Music); and Kung Paano Nanalo sa Karera si Rosang Taba, original story by Dean Alfar, stage adaptation by Maynard Manansala and Rodolfo Vera, directed by José Estrella, to be staged by March 2023.
‘THE RECONCILIATION DINNER‘ features Frances Makil Ignacio, Stella Cañete-Mendoza, Ze Mamu Stella, Nelsito Gomez, Ernesto Malabanan Cayabyab, Randy Medel Villarama, Phi Palmos Phillippé Louisé, and Hariette Mozelle.
In ‘The Kundiman Party,’ playwright Floy Quintos examined the role of the Artist and Civil Society during the Duterte administration.
His new play is also very much set in the present and deals with the same milieux.
In the aftermath of the 2022 elections, a group of friends gather to try and heal the divides caused by their own political affiliations.
The dinner results in life-altering choices for all of them.
The play asks, what role does Civil Society play in a world where its power for change has become so diminished?
More pointedly, the play asks, What price, Unity?

ito ang Kung Paano Nanalo sa Karera si Rosang Taba.
Si Rosang Taba ay kasambahay ng Gobernador-Heneral at ng asawa nitong si Andreia. Isang araw ay napadalaw ang komandanteng si Pietrado. Sa kuwentuhan, walang tigil sa pagyayabang sa mga huling panalo nito sa mga iba’t ibang timpalak laban sa mga katao. Nang marinig ni Rosang Taba ang dulo ng litanya ng komandante, hindi napigilan ang sarili sa pagbigkas ng mga katagang: “Kaya kitang talunin.”
