Awashed and mixed in a dance between daydream and reality, “F*ck It Will Set You Free” calls into question what is real in the midst of social media facades on travel. Exposing escape as a myth, the imageries are a free associative narrative on these stories popularly perpetuated by people on social media. Often times, this need to validate one’s social media presence builds up to the question, “What have we deemed real or valuable?”. Real life vs online life has never been more blurred out in a realm where people often feel the need to “brand” them- selves and create an image that hopefully would gain approval from their peers. The familiar depicted life scenes, the formulaic jetsetter, wanderlust images directed to garnering likes and exposure assimilates this question. There is restless energy moving about the space, calling out the desires that are raging to break free from the mundane and humdrum predictables. Snippets of the strangely familiar, in the thick of a transgressive beauty that is both intense yet inviting. It breathes a surreal, Hitchcockian air that either hints a calm before the storm, or after; yet despite of, beauty blooms in the air with a promise of an escape to a wild unknown.
