The Fête de la Musique, also known as Music Day, or World Music Day, is an annual music celebration that takes place on the Summer Solstice — 21st June in the Western Hemisphere and 22nd June in the Eastern Hemisphere.

On Music Day the citizens of a city or country are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks, including music venues willing to open their doors for a day of free music celebration, where musicians play for fun and not for payment.

In the Philippines, Alliance Française organises this celebration of music annually on a Saturday in mid-June in Makati, with two main stages and more than 30 themed (reggae, blues, punk, etc) ‘pocket’ stages hosted by the best bars in Poblacion and elsewhere. Truly a smorgasbord for music lovers. We are proud to host the Progressive Music pocket stage of Fête de la Musique in Bistro RJ for the very first time this year, 2019 — which also marks the Fête’s 25th year celebration. Suffice that #FetePH25 will be an epic event!
