This involves reflection and discussions about the filmic text and context. Through this process, a film will never have one uniform meaning and interpretation as discussions raise various perspectives. This course is designed to navigate around film and cinema. The workshop involves analysis of films from different vantage points like entertainment, artistry, politics, and culture. It also includes exercises as to which the workshopper can cultivate the skill and habit of reading films and making meaning out of it. Film Institute and has taught film and communication courses since 2001. He has authored several film, media, and communication book chapters and co-edited the book "Communication and Media Theories" with Rolando Tolentino, Randy Solis, and Choy Pangilinan. His book published by the UP Press entitled "The End of National Cinema: Filipino Film at the Turn of the Century" will be launched this October 2016.
