Film Festival for Everyday Heroes

Sorok Uni Foundation, in partnership with Intramuros Administration, Coreon Gate and Philippine Dreamfactory Learning Center launched the 5th Sorok Short Film Festival this 2019 with the theme HERO’S TALE. This is in line with the objective of the foundation to raise awareness on various social issues through film making. This year’s theme has been chosen to exhibit stories of ordinary people with extraordinary experiences of heroism and valor.

The film festival with over 19,000 followers launched online on July 1, 2019. The foundation, in partnership with Philippine Dreamfactory Learning Center, shall also hold Film Making Workshops on August 10, 17 & 24, 2019 that will be open to all. The said workshop will be facilitated by Award-Winning Director and Writer, Gina Marissa Tagasa and will also have Award-Winning Indie Film directors as speakers, Ralston Jover and Arvin Kadiboy Belarmino.  The deadline of submission of entries is on or before September 30, 2019. Finalist screening and Awarding Ceremony shall be held on November 30, 2019.

Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100,000.00), Thirty Thousand Pesos (P30,000.00), Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) as cash prizes for the Major Awards. There are also minor awards such as Special Jury Prize, Viewer’s Choice Award (based on online voting), Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress.

Sorok Uni Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization that works for the economic inclusion and emancipation of the Philippines’ forgotten neighbors, including Persons affected by Leprosy, Homeless Urban and Rural Poor and Indigenous People.
