ARCHIVO 1984 Gallery invites you to the screening of Lamberto Avellana’s 1965 Film Adaptation of Nick Joaquin’s “A Portrait Of The Artist As Filipino” happening on THURSDAY, MAY 25, 2017.

The program opens with a 5:30PM screening of “PORTRAIT: Rediscovering A Filipino Film Classic” a twenty-minute documentary based on Lamberto Avellana’s daughter and Archivo 1984 Gallery’s current exhibiting artist, Ivi Avellana-Cosio’s recollections of the making of the film, followed by a screening of the digitally-restored version of “A Portrait Of The Artist As Filipino” at 6:30PM, starring National Artist Daisy Avellana and Naty Crame-Rogers.

A documentary by Butch Nolasco on the making of PORTRAIT will also be shown.

Ongoing at the same venue is JOURNEY: ART: 50 (Part 1-Work on Paper), a solo exhibit by IVI AVELLANA-COSIO. JOURNEY is the first in a series of retro-spective exhibits marking Avellana-Cosio’s 50 years on the professional art scene. It will run until Saturday, May 27th.
