First Edition: Artist Print Cooperative

A two-week run of limited edition archival prints, online. A fundraiser as well as Cartellino’s inaugural flagship of their shop, First Edition focuses on one idea: art supporting its practitioners, supporting those in need.

The accessibility of prints makes this possible. All artists retain the rights to their original artworks, while the numbered editions allow for each reproduction to generate value over time. Prints, too, set a lower price floor. With such reach, one outcome we hope for is more substantial proceeds. The profits made through this cooperative will be devoted to its participating artists and multiple charities.

To buttress the effort, the artists have been divided into groups, each with its own cause and artist communal fund. All our partnered curators and art collectives have each chosen a beneficiary. The individual artists Cartellino has invited, meanwhile, will be featured under Cartellino’s Picks, an artist roster that will support three causes instead of one.

For every print purchased, 50% of the profits will go to the artist, 30% to the selected beneficiary, and 20% to be pooled into an artist communal fund, which will be split across that artist roster. For Cartellino’s Picks, the sum 30% of proceeds will be divided equally across its three beneficiaries.

Below are the roster of artists that are clustered in groups with their chosen beneficiary:
