Monumental Works

Vermont Coronel Jr. and Trek Valdizno

January 15 – February 28 2019
Galleria Duemila
210 Loring St. 1300 Pasay City

Set to welcome the new year with a bang, Galleria Duemila will exhibit two monumental works by artists Vermont Coronel and Trek Valdizno.

Vermont Coronel

Vermont Coronel’s stencil on canvas depicts his fascination with urban cities, the alleyways that make up an area, hidden nooks of beauty, observing how they turn from dusk to dawn with his use of color. The viewer is engulfed and transposed suddenly to a momentary scene and into the artist’s perspective.

Vermont Coronel Jr. (b.Laguna, Philippines in 1985) studied Advertising in Philippine Women’s University and has long been producing artworks that are heavily influenced and informed by urban philosophy of spaces. He was shortlisted in the Ateneo Art Awards in 2012, one of the more famous award-giving bodies that recognizes artists under the age of 36 years old.

Trek Valdizno

Trek Valdizno’s Outside  the Limits of the Earth is a plethora of colors and technique as much as it is a captivating pool of elements and depth. It goes beyond the normal size of canvas, extending to what is unknown.

Trek Valdizno is a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a degree in Fine Arts major in Painting. His works has been exhibited in Ayala Museum, Vargas Museum and Cultural Center of the Philippines. He also did commissioned and collaborative works in various international institutions in Australia, Hong Kong and France. His art is a conscious, spiritual practice that allows him to traverse through different brushstrokes resulting into large-scale compositions that engulf the viewer into its majesty and elegance. Breaking down the components of his works, you can see the fascination and careful consideration in the littlest-bit of elements.
