Galerie Roberto presents a solo exhibition by Anton del Castillo for ArtFair Philippines 2021. Rendered in his signature style, the realistic gas mask-wearing subjects rendered over gold leaf are all presented in apparent wait, a metaphor for the precarious situation we are all in, now that the world has survived one year of COVID-19. As we wait in anxiety for vaccines and cures, in the safety of our homes, del Castillo reminds us of our higher purpose. We are not just flesh and bone, we are spirit made in the likeness of a divine being. Mortal, our time is limited, but with purpose. And how we make use of it is what matters.
