Ayala Museum presents

Photographic Essay
with Paco Guerrero

9am to 5pm

During this 2 day workshop we will be exploring how photography can become of powerful narrative tool through the form of the classic photo essay. Looking back at the origins of the first documentary photographs we will study the work of W. Eugene Smith and his work for Life Magazine.

Using this working knowledge of the photo essay participants will be given a chance to work on their own image sets by embedding at several locations around Makati. The objective is to give participants a taste of what the challenges are of shooting a short photo essay.

The second day will be dedicated to the discipline of editing.
Participants will be asked bring in prints of their work from the previous day’s shoot and we will go through the selection process that leads to a Photo Essay.

Participants will need:

A digital camera – DSLR, Mirrorless or point and shoot Basic Photographic Knowledge Access to a computer Participants will be asked to print some of their work

The workshop fee is P 5,500 inclusive of materials, handouts, snacks, one day free access to the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library. The deadline for reservations is on May 21, 2016. Early bird, museum members and Ayala Group employees can avail of a 10% discount.
