Soundtable: An Immersive Introduction to Sound Art

WSK X: Festival of the Recently Possible

October 18, 2019 | 1PM – 4PM
College ’79 Creative Collaborative Room
3F George SK Ty Learning Innovation Wing, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University

The workshop is a collaborative project inspired by an experimental sound device developed by multimedia artist Tad Ermitano, further iterated, manipulated and deconsecrated by conspirators Marco Ortiga and Lawrence Ang (Tin Titus).

As an open-ended platform intended to serve as a vessel for interpreting the universe, the Soundtable houses several modules that enable the sonification of found objects to produce complex sound textures.

Since its inception in 2018, Soundtable has been traveling Southeast Asia extensively with curated workshops being held for children and adults, performers and non-performers, namely in the Philippines, Thailand, Japan and most notably at SONAR Hong Kong Festival to diverse international audiences. Soundtable is expected to debut a prototype for public consumption in early 2020.
