“TranscenDance” a Daloy Movement gathering on Valentine’s day.
Co-presented by Daloy Dance Co, FRINGE MNL festival, KONDWI and 10 days of Art (Art Fair PH)

Daloy Movement is an expressive arts practice that uses guided and sustained improvisation for personal-professional, community, and sectoral development. It catalyses intuitive, uninhibited and free-form movement by the sensing and embodiment of the four elements— water, air, earth and fire within the body, through movement meditation, visualisation, verbal instruction and a continuously invigorating playlist.

No dance background required. Beginners are very welcome.

Ea Torrado

With 15 years of dance teaching practice and professional background in classical and contemporary ballet, Ea Torrado found herself questioning, ‘What are ways of moving, and being, that are good to (and for) the body?’

In 2013, she immersed herself in a wide array of movement-based forms such as Yoga, Reiki, Physical Theatre, Viewpoints Technique and Improvisation, to deepen her understanding of our physiology and its capacities.

In 2017, she was awarded the Asian Cultural Council Grant, where she went on a 6-month intensive study in New York, focusing on cotemporary dance, somatics, dance therapy and improvisation.

Ea believes that dance can lead to a profound intimacy with the Self. Nurturing a space where dance could provoke self-reflection and mindfulness, as well as abandon and release, Ea guides each studentto connect to their own strength, presence and authenticity, reminding them that these feeling-states are something they can access anytime, anywhere, in their daily lives.

Daloy Dance Company

Daloy Dance Company is committed to the appreciation and critical understanding of dance by realizing the creation of new choreographies and workshops by Ea Torrado and her guest artists.

Nominated by Aliw Awards as Best Dance Company of 2017 and Best Classical Dance Company of 2017, Outstanding Contemporary Dance Group by The Philippine LEAF Awards, the company has performed in a range of dance and art festivals in the Philippines and Japan, Korea, Thailand and USA, among others. They have also worked with guest teachers from Sweden, Singapore, USA, Australia and Canada.

Capturing the energy and philosophy of Ea Torrado’s exploration of the human body as an instrument to provoke reflection and dialogue, Daloy has produced Walang Hiya Festival, Sayaw Galaw, Ugnayan Community Program, Tanghal at Talakay, and Daloy Movement— workshops that utilise dance as a tool for personal development, empowerment and change.
