Wearing My Master’s Shoes

An idiomatic expression that describes a student which tries to emulate his master. It’s a declaration that the artist, not particularly a student, is under the guidance of someone superior with a personal scheme that he will someday gain the recognition of his master.

The artists participating consider this exhibit as a homage to the person that they really look up to that made great influence in their development as artists. It will showcase the life of the artist that they admire to see, that brought them to a certain freedom and dwell on his art or even thought of his life. Someone they try to follow. Someone they idolize. Someone they consider as their Master.

The challenge of this exhibit is to allow the artists to choose an artwork of their Master that they want to interpret. This exhibit will showcase their skills and techniques and how their artwork will relate to the life of their master. All will be questioned, how they really know, and if they truly succeed on mastering their master, on how to make their master’s masterpiece. Rodel Jacintos

Opening Reception will be on January 17, 2015 at 6pm. Duration of the exhibit will be from January 17-31, 2015.
