Genavee Lazaro

Genavee Lazaro (b. 1994) first worked as a sculptor and received her training in the University of the Philippines Diliman. After graduating, she furthered her art practice in the same university as a ceramics studio assistant in the College of Fine Arts from 2016 to 2018. Lazaro’s pieces often feature personified foliage in absurd situations in various domestic settings, where she recognizes the monotony of living and disrupts the everyday ennui by inserting surreal elements that often feature her Cactus Friends.

Lazaro is actively expanding her list of exhibitions by showing in different galleries, art fairs, and various art initiatives both in the Philippines and in abroad.
