Lemons, as opposed to apples or watermelons, tend to be sour or bitter. Thus, when confronted with an unpleasant moment, the expression suggests you try and find a way to transform it into something more satisfying.

In contrast with this year, 2020 has been mentally and emotionally tiring for all of us. As we bid goodbye to this highly disruptive year, let’s not forget how we achieved something and just did what’s keeping us sane.

As they say, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. Let’s claim it in 2021, we can all bounce back.
