Ruby Ibarra is a rapper and spoken word artist from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. She released her debut album, CIRCA91, at the end of 2017. She is currently promoting her record through her tour across the United States. She has been featured on noted web-based publications such as Buzzfeed, NPR, Huffington Post, and XXL Magazine, and was recently featured in a MasterCard commercial and campaign with R&B singer SZA.
The Balikbayans is a band made up of professional musicians, emcees, community organizers, and teachers with Ruby Ibarra as the lead emcee. Our stories draw from Filipinx-American and Filipnx immigrants who grew up in the United States. They initially formed in the summer of 2018 to perform CIRCA 91 with live instrumentation.
AstraLogik is a series of circles…an eternal bond between two singers, entwined with listeners, and interlaced with the realms of physical reality and the spiritual unknown. These indestructible circles are crafted by the resounding principles of love and self empowerment that every being deserves and is entitled to.
