A history remembered is alive. Cultures developed through time ceremonies, and governments instituted holidays and erected monuments. Altogether, these expressions of generations animated feelings to keep the peoples connected with their ancestors’ wisdom, ideals, and legacies. These are also generations’ way of educating the new generations of what to value, to thank for, and to keep holding to.

In preparation for the upcoming celebration of the 500th Year of Christianity in the Philippines, join us this Friday night August 28, 6:30pm with Ian Christopher Alfonso, senior history researcher of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and Secretariat Head of the National Quin-centennial Committee, as we talk about the various ways of evoking strong feelings and emotions in keeping Philippine history alive in the hearts and minds of Filipinos. Ask you most pressing history questions to Ian on Facebook Live!
