UPFI Film Center has loads of features for New Year 2020. Commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the End of World War II that began in October resumes with pertinent selections. Combo of indie titles and alternative viewing fare charts hitherto invisible trajectories for local cinema. Opportunities for exchanges abound ranging from a hands-on workshop on 16 mm filmmaking with Nanolab artists from Australia to a full day of Venezuelan diplomacy via the moving image. Pelikula Lektura for the continuing celebration of the Philippine cinema centennial is extended with Ed Lejano. The month will not be complete without the observance of the 50th anniversary of the First Quarter Storm for which a new documentary feature by Grace Javier Alfonso is to be screened.
