Opening
July 23, 2015
Art Galileia
Unit  2C08, The Shops at Serendra, BGC, Taguig City

Art Galileia may be considered the progeny of another art gallery along the gallery row on the 2nd floor of The Shops at Serendra, BGC. In fact, one the owners pioneered the setting up of an art gallery in Serendra eight years ago. This gallerist then opened an art gallery in the bohemian enclave called Cubao Expo, moved back to Serendra (but in another section), transferred to a bigger exhibition place along BGC’s 28th avenue, before landing back on the only remaining slot on the same gallery row in The Shops at Serendra. Thus, the opening of Art Galileia on July 23, 2015 is a homecoming – a completion of a journey, a closing of the circle.

For our inaugural exhibit, young contemporary artists were chosen, with genre ranging from expressionism, surrealism, and social realism. The artists, young but admired by their peers, collectors and award bodies, represent the standpoint of the founders – in turn a blending of a core contemporary viewpoint and the championing of the young Filipino artists.

With the inauguration of Art Galileia, the founders of the gallery finally completed a journey back home. But more importantly, Art Galileia offers a new venue for young Filipino artists to showcase their talent.

Welcome to everybody!
