Angelica So

Angelica So is a Visual Artist born in 1996 and based in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
She studied BS Multimedia Arts and Sciences in Mapua Institute of Technology (now known as Mapua University). Angelica got introduced to painting and the arts around 2016 by a friend and since it is one of her interests, she then started to train herself how to draw and paint realistically in 2017 and onwards. In a couple of years, she found herself wandering about jolly and perky characters, which lead her to transition her works from realism to pop surrealism.

Angelica uses symbolisms, icons, colorful and playful imageries in her artworks to convey her emotions and conceal grim/sensitive stories behind every piece she makes, this approach make her works appealing.

Some of the artists that inspires her are: Yeo Kaa, So Youn Lee, Naoto Hattori, Craola, Camilla D’errico and Mark Ryden. Most of her works are influenced by these amazing and internationally renowned artists.
