Call for application to the 2016 Mindanao Screen Lab
SalaMindanaw Asian Film Festival 2016 is now accepting application to the second Mindanao Screen Lab to be held in General Santos City from November 7 – 11, 2016.
The Screen Lab is designed as an intensive learning program that provides emerging Mindanao filmmakers hands on training as well as project development sessions that will transform ideas into films. Participants shall be expected to pitch their stories during the Screen Lab. The best film project shall receive a project development grant.
Screen Lab mentors are accomplished filmmakers from Southeast Asia. Past mentors included film directors Kan Lumé (Singapore) John Torres and Sherad Anthony Sanchez (Philippines). Only 12 participants will be selected for the workshop.

Call for application to the 2016 Film Criticism Workshop
Call is now open for application to this year’s Film Criticism Workshop, which will take place from November 9 to 12 during SalaMindanaw Asian Film Festival 2016 in General Santos City, Philippines.
This project aims to encourage thinking, writing, and reading about film, while offering immersion in the live atmosphere of an international film festival.
Participants will receive guidance from professional film critics led by Chris Fujiwara and write their own articles, which will be presented publicly. Participants must come from Mindanao and the rest of the Philippines, Southeast Asia and Japan.
